About Promo Insights Trip Groups

Upon the purchase of Promo Insights, you will see two Promo Insights filters added to the Advanced Options in Trip Groups. As a reminder, Trip Groups allow you to filter your report output based on specific types of trips you want to focus on.

Pro Tip! Since Promo Insights data utilizes the Representative Market using a geographical or regional filter is not recommended when creating On-Promo Trip Groups.

Promotion Status:

  • Whether a product was on promotion at the time of purchase.

  • Select 'no' if you want to look at when a purchase was made specifically off promo, and 'yes' if you want to look at purchases while a product was on promotion.

  • Please note, when no option is selected and the filter says 'Any Promotional Status', this will include purchases both on and off promotion.

Promotion Attributes:

  • There are two types of promotion attributes. The first is Page Position, which allows you to narrow down to a specific page it may have been listed in a circular, or a coupon or wrap. For instance, you may want to research sales of an item promoted on a front page vs in the middle of an ad.

  • The second is Offer Type, i.e., BOGO, Free with Purchase, X for $X (2 for $5), etc. For more information on definitions of Offer Types, click here.

Other Filters

  • View the Trip Groups article to learn about how to create Trip Groups or other additional filters. An overview of the additional advanced options are below.

    • Trip Mission: Size of the basket

    • Delivery Service: Choose from a list of delivery providers, like DoorDash or Shipt.com

    • Product: Specific product to analyze (can be any level of either Product hierarchy)

    • Store or Channel: Select your store or channel, if needed
