About Promo Insights People Groups
Upon the purchase of Promo Insights, you will see two Promo Insights filters added to the Advanced Options in People Groups. As a reminder, People Groups allow you to create cohorts or segments of people specific to your analysis.
Remember that People Groups draw a circle around a set of panelists based on the criteria you specify.
Promotions, though, are on products, not people.
Using the Promotion Status and Promotion Attribute Advanced Options applies those additional criteria to whatever you have selected in the main prompts.
For instance, if you select Dr Pepper and Soft Drinks in the Any Product and Any Category prompts, respectively, select "On Promotion" in the Promotion Status prompt, and select the "X For" offer type in the Promotion Attribute prompt, you would create a People Group of everyone who purchased Dr Pepper Soft Drinks when they were offered on a X/For promotion.
Pro Tip! Since Promo Insights data utilizes the Representative Market using a geographical or regional filter is not recommended when creating On-Promo People Groups.
Promotion Status
Whether a product was on promotion at the time of purchase. Please note, when no option is selected and the filter says 'Any Promotional Status', this will include purchases both on and off promotion.
Promotion Attributes
There are four types of promotion attributes available for creating People Groups.
Page Position: where within an ad or website the promotion ran (e.g., front, middle, wrap, deal page).
Offer Type: the type of promotion (e.g., BOGO, Free With, X For).
Media Type: where the promotion ran (e.g., email, in-store promotion books).
Incentive Type: additional incentives (if any) that were offered for purchasing the promoted product (e.g., free shipping, gasoline discounts).
